We girls have been at it again!  Another retreat!  The 2 granddaughters wanted to make a quilt to welcome their new sister.  So I was given the task of coming up with another pattern and fabric.  My stash was very low on spring baby fabric and the only store I get to lately is the wholesaler.  On my next trip to the wholesaler--I fell in love with this fabric, so I bought the whole bolts!  Needless to say I have some to share as a kit. (see below)

The problem of the fabric was solved but what to do for a pattern?  I was trying to stay away form triangles since the girls are still new to quilting.  Those little animals are too cute, so I decided to fussy cut them and then strip them out to be a uniform size.  Easy for the girls but a bit crazy looking as the animals are all different sizes.

Crazy it is!  I decided to fence those animals with a wacky rail fence!  More cutting for me but fast for the girls to piece.  By the time we got to the borders, it was a very crazy quilt!!  So we calmed it with some tone on tone fabrics.

At that point the girls had to go home, and Grandma was left to finish it.  I still liked those little animals and so I did a little Trapunto.  Now, we have poofy animals and flowers

On to the quilting!!  My favorite new toy is the Quartermaster foot and the rulers and templates.  I just happened to have a few new ones to play with!  (Yes, I have been testing them again!)

I used the Queen ruler and tiger tape to stitch in the ditch.  Then, I  used the daisy template, and the mini S-shape to get the leaf curve.  And, the most fun--the circle maker!!!!  Wait until you see me do a circle!!  Click on the picture below to see video of making a circle.

The finished quilt is 42" x 42".

Too much fun!
